30 Minute Treadmill Pyramid Workout

One of the biggest challenges in my life right now is making time for everything and attempting to keep a good work-life balance. With a really busy semester of school plus work, errands, life, and some blogging I always feel like there is never enough hours in the day. With a busy schedule, that means there is a lot of quick workouts that I need to sneak in. Luckily I have a treadmill in my apartment so if it's a reasonable hour (sorry to my neighbors for the treadmill noise!) I can hop on the treadmill to squeeze in a few miles. I honestly find anything more than 5 miles unbearable recently so my go-to treadmill workout is a 30 minute interval run.

Today I'm sharing my go-to treadmill workout. The speed changes incrementally in a pyramid fashion so it keeps me from getting bored and is a great workout that only takes 30 minutes.  The pyramid takes 15 minutes and when repeated once it makes a nice 30 minute workout. You could always repeat the pyramid more times to increase the length of your workout too.

Do you run on the treadmill often? What's your favorite workout when you're short on time?

  1. I'm struggling with all those things minus school, but getting a good run in is never easy! I literally cannot just go and run on the treadmill without a set workout because I'll literally die of boredom, but this build up is perfect for getting in a little warm up and finishing strong!

  3. Ooh, I know this would be a tough workout for me but I'd love to give it a try! I've never run above 7.0 on the treadmill!

    1. Definitely try it for a challenge or you could always scale the workout down by lowering all the speeds by 1.0!

  5. Love this idea! I would definitely try something it, not sure I could hit 8.0 without falling off though! I don't mind the treadmill so much. I've been on it A LOT this winter

    1. You could always lower all the speeds by 1.0 or 2.0 as well!

  7. When I lived near a gym I absolutely did pyramid walking/incline workouts; seemed to go by faster and I like the rest after a hard incline.

  11. Usually 30 minute treadmill workout can play with speed and changes minute to minute. Switching speeds will improve your overall running stamina and increases the calories you burn when the workout will get over.
