Good Luck Box Review {CUCB Edition}

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary Good Luck Box as a Credit Union Cherry Blossom Race Ambassador. No other compensation was received. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Subscription boxes and gift boxes having become increasingly popular in the last few years. There is a box of goodies you can buy for every interest it seems. I was intrigued by the idea of Good Luck Box when I heard I'd be receiving one as a Credit Union Cherry Blossom (CUCB) Race Ambassador because it seemed unique. It's a box you can order online that comes with surprise handpicked running essentials for before, during, or after a race. It can be a gift for you, a friend, a family member, or teammate and is delivered the week before the specified race.

You can even tell the team a little bit about the person as well as selecting the gender of the box recipient to further tailor the items.

Obviously because it was a box of surprises, I was excited when it arrived on my doorstep a couple weeks ago. Once I opened it I was even happier. The box was adorably wrapped with teal shoelaces and contained a little note card with some cherry blossom petals. I definitely "awwed" out loud when I saw how cute it was.

I loved the message of good luck as well as the small touches such as the "lucky penny", safety pins, and printed words "Good Luck" on the shoelaces.

Once I actually unwrapped the tissue paper, I was SO excited to see some of my favorite brands. How did the Good Luck Box Team know I loved Honey Stinger waffles, Yogi tea, and body glide (which I running low on!).

Here's a list of all the awesome items inside the box:
{1 Tiger Tail Muscle Roller Roadster} -used this during Hood to Coast and love it!
{3 Picky Bar in Cookie Doughpness}-I may have already eaten this...
{6 Yogi Tea in Bedtime}-it came with a card of nice relaxation tips!
{7 Good Luck Box coozie}
(8 Card with schedule and address of race events and expo}-a really nice touch
{10 Action Wipes packet}-perfect for freshening up post-race
{11 Good Luck Pasta and recipe for a kale pasta meal}

Overall I thought it was a really awesome box. It was full of a wide variety of well-known brands and quality items as well as lots of special personal touches. I liked that it included some things to use before, during, and after a race. The idea of including some easy individual packets to stash in my bag for after the race like the Action Wipes and  travelTiger Tail is awesome. I'm definitely packing some of this in my bag when I run the CUCB race in a month. The box is $39.99 and can be ordered any time before the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Miler (or another race you or a friend is running).

This is definitely something I'm keeping in mind for big races, gifts for friends, or if someone needs a gift idea for me!

What is one running essential you'd love to receive before a race? What is your favorite pre-race gift?

  3. That's such a cute idea and the box is PACKED with really great stuff! My mom subscribed me to Birch Box one Christmas, but I eventually told her just to cancel it because I didn't use anything! I would totally use all of these things though.

  6. My Dad got me one of these for the Cherry Blossom :) I can't wait to see what comes in mine! (I have no idea what he chose for it, and I'm kind of hoping I get the right size socks if they're included.) Picky bars are AWESOME! I started subscribing so I get 12 bars a month in my favorite flavors--Ah, Fudge Nuts, Cookie Doughpness, All in Almond and Lauren's Mega Nuts. Such a good post-run snack if you're in a hurry :)
