Five Friday Favorites 2/13/15

Today I'm linking up with my 5 Friday favorites from the week here  here, and here

Happy early Valentine's Day!

1. Favorite Find: La Croix Coconut Sparkling Water

I just happened picked up this box of La Croix Coconut at Target on a whim. The coconut flavor is delicious, and I love the carbonation in the water. It's a great swap for soda because it has 0 calories with no sugar and no artificial ingredients. Now I'm obsessed and have at least one every day!

2. Favorite Easy Dinner: Crockpot Beef Stew.

With colder temperatures I have been craving warm and hearty meals like chili and stews. I easily set this up in the crock pot before I went to work and came home to a delicious, comforting meal. I used this recipe from Lexi's Clean Kitchen and substituted the vegetables for what I had on hand- such as green peppers instead of frozen peas.

3. Favorite Workout : Surfset

Loving my hot pink Feetures! socks
Thanks to ClassPass I've been getting the chance to switch up my workouts. I attended a Surfset class taught by Jessie at BeachFit Baltimore on Tuesday evening and loved it.  I've done Floyo there before so I was excited to try a different workout with the boards. We did sets of tabatas with the Surfset boards that left me sweatier than I expected. I love finding new fun & challenging ways to exercise.

4.  Favorite Challenge: #28daysofkind

KIND Snacks and Greatist have teamed up for the #28daysofkind challenge. Random Acts of Kindness Day is Feburary 17, but they have decided to celebrate an entire month of kindness instead! Join the challenge and share your actions with the hashtag #28daysofkind and you could win a year's worth of KIND bars! I'm all for spreading more positivity and kindness!

5. Favorite Love Quote: from Winnie the Pooh

There are a lot of Valentine's Day haters out there. I get the silliness of it as a commercial holiday or the "why only do nice things on one day of the year?" arguments. However I feel that it's sad but people are busy and sometimes forget to appreciate the people they have in their lives. I think the world could use more reasons to celebrate love.

For Valentine's Day I celebrate love with my family, friends, and significant other. So maybe you don't need to go spend a bunch of money on roses or a fancy dinner, but just think about the people whom you care about in your life. Mail a card, share some chocolate, or just let someone know you are thinking of them. Don't forget to treat yourself and show yourself some love.

Maybe that's taking the time to do something you love, buying yourself something you've wanted, or making some chocolate raspberry brownies

What's your favorite find of the week? Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

  1. I love La Croix water but have never tried the coconut flavor before. That would probably make me feel like I was on vacation!

    1. I got it at Target, girl ! It's fun-unstable like being a surfboard cause it's balanced on a base. Definitely a core workout no matter what moves you do!

  4. Love the Winnie the Pooh quote! And I'm totally with you on Valentine's Day. Of course we should show love all year round, but is there harm in a day that celebrates taking it up a notch? My boyfriend and I don't make a big deal about Valentine's Day, but we still make it a point to spend it together :) Thanks for joining the #fitnfashionable link up!

  5. i kind of love valentine's day; grown to love it I guess. I don't have any plans (other than starbucks) but any reason to decorate my apt for another holiday is a-ok by me. I've been home less than 5 weeks and made beef stew 3x; why is it so cold?! And obvs, hotdudesreading is the best find of the week. hahaha. YES.
