5 Friday Favorites featuring Mizuno Running & Snacking

Disclosure: I was sent a pair of Mizuno Running Wave Catalyst shoes as a part of a sponsored campaign through the Fitfluential Network. I was also given a complimentary code for 3 meals through Galley Foods. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Workouts have been not too great this week because of being so busy plus trying to avoid running outside in the below freezing windy temperatures we've been having this week. Apparently it's going to be in the single digits this weekend. Um, is it spring yet? I plan on knocking out a workout and then getting nice and cozy and warm and watching the Olympic Marathon Trials from LA on Saturday, rooting for my #TeamNuun lady Kara Goucher, Shalane, and Meb of course as well as some other awesome runners.  I have a lot of exciting things planned for the spring, but need to survive a lot of work this semester and this crazy winter weather. Here are some of my favorite things from the past week:

5 Friday Favorites

1. Favorite Package: Mizuno Running Wave Catalyst

Thanks to a campaign with Fitfluential I was sent the new Mizuno Wave Catalyst shoes. Besides loving the neon color, I was really excited to try a lightweight shoe from Mizuno since I've only tried their more supportive shoes. I'm a fan of more lightweight shoes and so far like it. The bottom is still a little stiffer than I normal like, but I appreciate the light weight feel and the thinner upper on the shoes.  I skipped a bitter cold run last night, but still took these babies to yoga class!

2. Favorite Dinner: Lamb Bolognese Fettuccine from Galley Foods

I was approached my a new meal service in the area called Galley Foods to try out a few complimentary meals. I'll probably talk about this more, but it's been awesome for the night during the week I need to coach to have a great meal waiting for me to heat up when I get home. This lamb bolognese fettuccine with green beans hit the spot this past Wednesday after the training run. Definitely a fancier weeknight meal than most of the ones I have. It was delicious, and I totally licked the plate clean!

3. Favorite Run: Nuun Year Dash 10K with BMOREtoned

Last weekend I ran the virtual race Nuun Year Dash 10K through FitFam's race sposnored by Nuun Hydration which benefited the Challenged Athlete's Foundation. Team Nuun had the biggest team with 62 members, woop woop. We got a super cool medal, shirt, and bib for registering. I joined the BMOREtoned meetup and had lots of fun being fueled by Nuun and running with their crew. Some kickass people from Harlem Run also trekked down to Baltimore for the race. Running with others is always fun, especially when it's cold outside. Check out Fit Fam for other upcoming virtual races (which all support charities) including a Pi Day run!

4. Favorite Socks: Feetures! Running socks

Feetures! running socks are my favorite! I used to scoff at paying $10-15 a pair for running socks before I realized how comfortable and important they were for preventing blisters.  Their merino wool elite socks are the only things keeping my toes warm this winter. I'm happy to be back in 2016 as a Feetures! Running ambassador for the second year. It's totally time to stock up on some more socks for spring racing season.

5. Favorite Feature: Women's Health snacking advertorial

Guys, I'm in a magazine! My snacking question was featuring in a Women's Health magazine advertorial with Sargento. Yep, I'm Women's Health Action Hero Lauren S. Check out the latest issue with Christina Aguilera on the cover.

What is one of your favorites from the week? What was the best dinner you ate this week?

This post was linked up with my fave Friday Linkup ladies CourtneyMar, and Cynthia  as well as NicoleJilland Amanda .
