{MIMM} A Humid and Artsy Weekend

This weekend I did so much yet not enough. Seriously weekends fly by. More fun and less chores, which is a good balance for a change.  That means I have another busy week ahead of me though.  I'm glad to report that this mid-summer weekend had many marvelous parts.

The bad

Hottest day of the year so far? Check.

Humidity makes for a really sweaty run and a post-long run smiley face of sweat coincidentally on my "Run Happy" shirt. Ending a run drenched is a bit unpleasant.

Still having a huge to-do list after the weekend is over.

The weekend only lasting two days. I need at least three!

Feeling really tired from a busy week led to two rest days this weekend. Good for my body, bad for my training because I wanted at least another easy run in this week.

The good

New cell phone FINALLY. Went from the Samsung Galaxy S3 to the S6. Huge difference and my camera looks fabulous!

Thursday I took an awesome barre class with REV on the Four Seasons pool deck with a post-class cocktail and some pool-side relaxation.  Look at that view!

Sushi for dinner on Saturday

Sleeping in on Sunday mornings  Maybe the best part of the weekend?

Farmer's markets and copious amounts of iced coffee.

Artscape arts festival in Baltimore all weekend. I love seeing all the art, performances, and eclectic groups of people drawn out to the festival. Stay weird, Baltimore.

Baltimore is full of lots of awesome things.
Getting up for a long run at 5 AM with friends on Saturday, feeling good overall and refueling, and then taking a 3 hour nap.

Making some delicious zoodles & sausage for dinner inspired by a dish from Lindsay's Instagram.

  1. Hello via MIMM! I love those sweaty runs... you feel so productive, even if you hated the run during it! I completed my fourth half ironman this weekend and had a blast doing it!

  2. If it makes you feel better, it's miserably hot and humid in San Diego too. Such weird weather!! At least all the sweating is like a detox sauna. LOL!

  4. I live in Baltimore as well! Although I didn't go to Artscape, I heard awesome things and I recognized the inner harbor in your Four Seasons picture...I thought it looked familiar...
Which market did you go to? I"m partial to the Waverly market...

    1. I love meeting fellow Baltimoreans! I usually go to the Baltimore Farmer's Market under 83/JFX because I can walk to it. I've heard good things about Waverly but never ventured out there!

  10. After my race this weekend I felt like I jumped in a swimming pool. I'm going one step farther and saying there should be a 4-day weekend. Post long run naps are my absolute favorite!
