Guys, I'm going streaking.
No, not like Will Ferrell in Old School.
After a relaxing, limited-tech long holiday weekend in the woods I'm ready to get ready for summer and marathon training. Eh, after a weekend consisting of hiking, many beers and mint juleps, smores, and sleeping in, I think I am only actually excited for summer. It actually felt like Memorial Day weekend was the kickoff to summer this year.

I'm in luck because Runner's World magazine is sponsoring it's annual summer challenge where you can join and pledge to run a mile a day, every day from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July.

That's a little over a month of running each day! I'm REALLY bad at sticking with challenges, but I think this will be fun and get me pumped about running. It's a good little challenge for myself to try sticking to something that is simple and doesn't involve me doing 500 crunches or a different routine everyday. I also want to be looking good when I meet tons of new bloggers and friends at Fitbloggin at the end of June so a little extra cardio can't hurt!
40 days of consecutive running has me believing there will be many late night 1 milers on the treadmill. I'm going to need all the support I can get!
You can find out more information and sign up with Map my Fitness here. Be sure to use the official hashtag on social media #RWRunStreak to share your progress and runs!
Also quick shout-out to my little brother who graduated from college on Thursday and already has a job lined up-what a rockstar! (Congrats also to my girl Sarah who graduated as well last week and better get her booty back to Baltimore soon!)
Are you joining the #RWRunStreak? What are you most excited about for summer?
I MISS YOU ALREADY!!!! I am seriously going to cry tomorrow morning when we're at November Project in different cities. I'll have to pretend I'm with you guys. I've always wanted to do a run streak but I want to wait until I'm injury free for a little while longer. Maybe I'll do the one this winter... maybe.
ReplyDeleteToday is round 1 of getting me back to Baltimore. Fingers crossed!
Ugh I miss you and you at NP-Baltimore :(
Deletethis is great - wish i could join, still don't trust my body enough to run every day :)
ReplyDeletewell most days will probably be slow 1 milers don't worry!
DeleteI wish I could do this running streak, but my runner's knee is still healing. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteUgh get better girl! You can also join in next summer hopefully :)
DeleteI did the Thanksgiving to New Year's run streak... I was nervous my body couldn't handle it but I really enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome and encouraging-I bet it was awesome to do through the holidays!
DeleteYay for run streaking! I did the holiday run streak and liked it way more than I thought I would! I did have many treadmill runs at 11:30 pm though...
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I count on many 11:30 PM slow treadmill 1-milers haha
Deleteahh will for sure be cheering you on! and even try and get at least a mile in each day myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much and definitely join in!
DeleteGood luck! I did the streak last year. I learned a lot about myself. :)
