We're Going STREAKING!

Guys, I'm going streaking.

No, not like Will Ferrell in Old School

After a relaxing, limited-tech long holiday weekend in the woods I'm ready to get ready for summer and marathon training. Eh, after a weekend consisting of hiking, many beers and mint juleps, smores, and sleeping in, I think I am only actually excited for summer.  It actually felt like Memorial Day weekend was the kickoff to summer this year.

Mid-hike: look at that view!
I'm in luck because Runner's World magazine is sponsoring it's annual summer challenge where you can join and pledge to run a mile a day, every day from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July.

#RWRunStreak

That's a little over a month of running each day!  I'm REALLY bad at sticking with challenges, but I think this will be fun and get me pumped about running. It's a good little challenge for myself  to try sticking to something that is simple and doesn't involve me doing 500 crunches or a different routine everyday. I also want to be looking good when I meet tons of new bloggers and friends at Fitbloggin at the end of June so a little extra cardio can't hurt!

40 days of consecutive running has me believing there will be many late night 1 milers on the treadmill. I'm going to need all the support I can get!

You can find out more information and  sign up with Map my Fitness here. Be sure to use the official hashtag on social media #RWRunStreak to share your progress and runs!

I'll be updating on my blog, Twitter, and Facebook so make sure you are following me!

Also quick shout-out to my little brother who graduated from college on Thursday and already has a job lined up-what a rockstar! (Congrats also to my girl Sarah who graduated as well last week and better get her booty back to Baltimore soon!)

Are you joining the #RWRunStreak? What are you most excited about for summer?

  1. I MISS YOU ALREADY!!!! I am seriously going to cry tomorrow morning when we're at November Project in different cities. I'll have to pretend I'm with you guys. I've always wanted to do a run streak but I want to wait until I'm injury free for a little while longer. Maybe I'll do the one this winter... maybe.
Today is round 1 of getting me back to Baltimore. Fingers crossed!
