Christmas Survey from Hungry Runner Girl Blog

Happy Holidays! I've been super stressed and busy but realized that there is only 12 days until Christmas so I need to start listening to lots of holiday tunes and get excited for the festivities!  When I saw a Christmas Survey on Janae's blog and Carissa's blog (both of which are awesome blogs to follow) I knew it would be super fun to fill out and get me in the holiday spirit today, when I'm fighting off a cold.

1.  Favorite Christmas Album/CD/Song?
This year my favorite christmas album is Michael Buble's  Christmas.  That smooth, crooner voice is perfect for holiday songs.

However, my sister and I's special Christmas song is Bruce Springsteen's Santa Clause is Coming to Town.  We have the whole live beginning bit memorized too, haha! It's the Boss c'mon, NJ pride, and all that jazz :)

2.  Run on Christmas morning or take the day off?
I'll probably run later in the day after opening presents, eating breakfast, and having a couple mimosas, but we'll see because I love running in the AM.  My parents have a treadmill too, so I know I'll be able to get  a run in sometime!

3.  What do you usually eat on Christmas morning?
My dad usually makes a big eggs and meat spread or some sort of pancakes with fruit.  Now that we're all older there is always some champagne and mimosas too while which we watch the parades on TV!

4.  Favorite holiday or Christmas tradition?
I LOVE holiday lights, and they make me so happy.  I bought a Living Social deal to go to an outdoor lights show next week.  In my parents town, there are a few houses that always go all out and we usually stop and see them Christmas Eve.  In Baltimore this one neighborhood Hampden always has awesome lights on 34th street.  I even made my boyfriend hang some icicle lights in our apartment!

5.  Real tree, fake tree or no tree?
Real tree, all the way! My parents converted to a fake tree when I was in high school and I always missed the smell and the fact that it's not plastic and doesn't weirdly bend.  We got a little real Christmas tree for my apartment this year.

6.  Christmas pajamas… yay or nay?
LOVE-I've been on the hunt for some cute ones to wear this year!

7.  Where do you spend the holidays?  Your own house, your parents’ house, extended family, in-laws, friends?
My mom always has Christmas at our house. My family always was the one with young kids so we got to stay and play with our presents all day!

8.  Food that you always have during the holiday season?  Favorite Christmas food/treat?
I LOVE christmas cookies. I helped my mom make a few batches last weekend  including the sugar cookie cut outs that my sister and I decorated.  My mom always makes these delicious creamy mashed potatoes too :)

9. Open presents all at once or take turns?
My family let us open them one at a time for each kid.  If you open all your presents really quickly, then it's over in like 5 minutes!

10.  Favorite Christmas(ish) movie?
Love Actually for a more modern film. I cry everytime, especially at the part where Mark( aka Rick Grimes from the Walking Dead!) holds up the signs to Juliet (Keira Knightley's character). It is heartbreaking!   White Christmas is my go-to for a classic holiday movie.  Who doesn't love Bing Crosby performing?
