Friday Favorites 6/21/13

Even though it's only been like a half week of work for me this week, it's still has felt long catching up on things.  I am ready to enjoy the weekend and get back on track with my schedule next week. Marathon training starts this weekend too with my first longer run in a while which freaks me out. Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen if you are outside! I know my Friday Favorites have been sporadic due to a few vacations but here are some things I've been loving this week! Enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!

1. Favorite Workout Song: Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell

This song is catchy, old school, and funky. Robin Thicke has been doing what Justin Timberlake did on his latest album for years.

2. Favorite Snack: I've been back on a peanut butter and banana bender since vacation.

But when is the Trader Joe's Almond Butter coming back?!?! I haven't seen it the past two trips, including one this week. I might have to shell out some money and head to Whole Foods this weekend. Boo.

3. Favorite Foodie Find: Trader Joe's Chicken Chili Lime Burgers

I love cooking up a batch of these for lunches or defrosting a few for a quick dinner this week.  Last night  for dinner I crumbled one on top of a mexican bowl I made with corn, brown rice, spinach, salsa, cheese, green peppers, and greek yogurt, and it was delicious! The lime flavor really stands out and adds a twist to plain old burger!

4. Favorite Detox Aid: Peach Detox Tea by Yogi

I've always been a big fan of Yogi brand tea but this week I've been loving some of this peach detox flavor after dinner. It's sweet and relaxing!

4. Favorite Place to Miss: Bonnaroo, a magical place in Tennessee.

Yes, I've been back in the real world a total of 3 days now and am having post-vacation depression. I miss sitting in the sunshine with an ice cold beer listening to music, surrounded by good people, green grass, and a whole lot of love (with a little bit of crazy mixed in!). Until next year, perhaps?

4. Favorite Birthday (today): Happy 2nd Birthday SweatPink!

I feel so honored to be a part of such an amazing community of strong, fit, and fun women! The SweatPink community continues to grow, and I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

If anybody is running the Baltimore Women's Classic 5K this Sunday, I'll be representing by wearing my SweatPink Tank and some hot pink Brooks so say hello :)

Are you running a race this weekend? What is your favorite snack of the week?

    1. You're welcome! The 5K was humid and it rained about 30 minutes after I finished. Thank goodness when the actual 5K started it was cloudy so it wasn't as hot as I thought. Congrats to you and you're speedy friends and the super awesome half time!

  7. Thanks for your comment and great suggestions on my post. Congrats on the 5k! I love an unexpected strong race! I did the Chicago Women's Half this morning. It was a scorcher. The last 2 miles especially. I finished better than I expected in just under 1:39. I did a local 5k that was a fundraiser yesterday. It was a blast - it was part of the Gospel Festival here in Chicago. Most motivating and fun crowd ever and 4 of the top 5 were women - including my 3 friends and me ;)
