Lately I've been into making my own granola bars and protein bars but love to keep some packaged ones on hand for when I'm on the go or need something that will stay fresh in my purse for when I need a snack. You know I love Questbars and also like Luna bars and KIND bars. The most important thing I look for in a bar is that it is not loaded with sugar and that I can understand all of it's ingredients.
I recently was sent some samples to try by Gluten Free Protein Bars (GFB). In the last year I have figured out that I am gluten sensitive, after an array of GI issues and a diagnosis of IBS, so I am always on the look out for gluten-free products that are tasty! GFB's mission statement is to make the world's best gluten-free protein bar, with a lot of focus on taste! I was even more excited when I came across GFB's website and saw this info:
Looks pretty awesome, right? I tried a sample pack of their four bar flavors: Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Cranberry Almond, and Oatmeal Raisin.
I keep them in my bag for when I'm craving a snack if I stay at work late or get hungry in the afternoon. I wanted to try all the flavors before giving a review and recommending them and found the peanut butter chocolate flavor was my favorite. The flavor combination is pretty much a no-brainer in my book! The actual texture of the bars is similar to a LaraBar, where it is chewy and dense. Even though I gobbled up the bar, it still was satisfying and felt like I had actually eaten a snack, instead of leaving me searching for part two of my snacktime.
Take a look at the individual stats of the my favorite flavor bar (info for all flavors found here):

I haven't seen them in stores near me yet so I'm going to purchase some more online. If you are like me and always sample bars or snacks before buying a huge box, GFB has a deal where you can purchase a sample pack with a bar in each flavor for only $10, and they include a coupon for $5 off your next purchase (Click here to check it out)!
What are some protein bar recipes or brands that you are loving right now?
Disclosure: The Gluten Free Bar sent me a sample pack to review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Haha thanks, there's certain songs like that, that I can't get enough of and always love singing when I run!
DeleteSweet Nothing is one of my fave songs to run to right now. Funny note, I downloaded it for an 8K I did and when I started my iTunes for the race, I somehow hit the repeat button. So I listened to just that song for the WHOLE 8K because I didn't want to be slowed down trying to mess with it. I still love it, though. :) Here from the playlist link-up, by the way....
ReplyDeleteI LOVE jamming out to Sweet Nothing. That's crazy that you listened to it the whole 8K-at least it's a good song!
